Your OEM customer states it in the requirement letter or framework agreement. AL 2 is the default: interviews run by web conference and the auditor checks your evidence for plausibility. AL 3 applies to very high protection needs and to prototype parts and prototype vehicles: the auditor verifies the evidence in depth, in person and on site. Test vehicles and prototype events have been assessed at AL 2 since January 1, 2025. The target maturity is 3 at both levels.

It applies whenever your scope handles prototype vehicles, parts, test drives or prototype data on site - typical for engineering service providers and many Tier-1 plants. It adds controls for security zones, key management, test-drive routes, photography bans and NDA cascades.

Valiido has a guide of its own for prototype protection that goes through chapter 8 of VDA® ISA 6 control by control. For the groundwork, templates for the physical access policy with security zones, the non-disclosure agreement (NDA) and asset handovers for keys are ready to copy.

Yes - VDA® ISA 6 overlaps roughly 70 to 80 % with ISO® 27001 Annex A:2022. The usual blocker is parallel Excel and Word.

In Valiido every Guide chapter is mapped to its ISO® 27001 controls and its ISA chapters, so the same policy, risk and evidence serve both audits. Many DACH suppliers run the combined assessment with the same auditor team in the same week.

TISAX® is not a certification - it is an assessment resulting in a TISAX® label, valid three years, visible to your customer on the ENX® portal. Your customer needs three things confirmed: label level (AL 2 or AL 3), assessment scope (locations and processes), and whether prototype protection applies.

If the letter is silent, ask their purchasing or security contact - the wording on the ENX® portal must match. You do not have to draft the scope wording yourself: the Definition of Scope template is ready in Valiido, and you only adapt it.

No - ENX® accepts the participant, only an ENX®-listed audit provider can issue a label. Both stay with you.
